Ship Waste Management Plan Implementation Services

The Ship Waste Management Plans apply to all Ships, including fishing vessels and pleasure crafts, regardless of flag, sailing or operating in Ports or Marinas.

Our company supports the client Organisations on an annual basis in the effective implementation of the above mentioned Plans by providing the following services:

  • Check the client Organisation’s waste reception facilities and submission of a written report on its operational status (accompanied by photographic illustration) as well as documented proposals for improvement.
  • Drawing up a report on the general appropriateness of the existing equipment for the temporary storage of Ship/Vessel waste and drawing up technical specifications of additional equipment, if needed.
  • On line training of the Organisation’s Staff in order to ensure the correctness of the Waste delivery requests from Ships/Boats.
  • Full support in everything related to the Electronic Waste Register (EMA).
  • Consulting assistance regarding any document must be sent by the Organisation to the Public Services which are involved in the Waste Plan (National Health Service, Decentralized Administration, Regional Administration and Port Authority).
  • Preparation of draft plans of the waste reception facilities for the update of the database of the Global Integrated Maritime Information System (GISIS) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) database.
  • 24-hour support of the Organisation regarding the correctness and legality of any waste delivery requests from the requested Ship/Vessel.
  • Full Support regarding the National Single Shipping Box as well as the required information before any Ship docks at the Port facility of the Organisation.
  • Drafting the client Organisation’s decision, regarding the documented limitation of the number of providers, if this is deemed desirable.
  • On behalf of the client Organisation, draft call preparation for Ship waste collection and management providers, in accordance with the provisions of the current General Regulations.
  • Checking the licenses of the providers and/or contractors before they undertake the direct collection of waste from Ships or Vessels, as well as the existence in force of their operational agreements with licensed final receivers of the waste initially collected from Ports and Marinas.
