Ship Waste Collection and Management Plans

Ship Waste Collection and Management Plans,  are drawn up by our company and are among the most important services we offer to our customers. Our goal is to develop plans provided by law in order to achieve sustainability and integrated protection of the Marine Environment. The Plans are mandatory and must respond to all requirements of Regional, National, European and International legislation. As part of our obligations is the final approval of the Plans by the Hellenic Ministry of Mercantile Marine and Island Policy.

To carry out the Plans to the standards of our Company, a series of tasks are required which include the following:

  • Professional photography of all Port facilities under the client Organisation’s responsibility
  • Accurate mapping of existing Ship Waste Reception Facilities.
  • Determining the quantities of Ship’s Waste per category based on the quantities delivered in the past three years in order to accurately calculate the required infrastructure of the client Organisation.
  • Together with the client Organisation, provide a realistic price list of indirect fixed fees for the delivery of waste to be paid by Ships and Vessels. To deliver the above mentioned price list, we carry out a techno-economic study in order to provide documented evidence of the estimated amount of fees.
  • Drawing-up the necessary specifications of the Waste Collection Providers list, that will be able to respond to the needs of direct collection of waste delivered by Ships
  • Close cooperation with the client Organisation, so that the Ship Waste Management Plan actually covers the requirements of the Organisation, as well as of all users of the Port facilities under its responsibility.
  • After the completion of the Plan, we ensure that it is immediately sent to all the public Authorities, responsible for its approval.
  • Finally, we monitor all stages by actively participating in the approval procedure in order to be aligned with the requirements and to give answers to possible comments until the final stage of approval by the Ministry of Mercantile Marine and Island Policy.
